God Made Dirt...And Dirt Don't Hurt!

Playing With Parker

We recently had the pleasure of having Parker stay with us for a few days. That kid is hilarious and so much like his mom. He loves to play with Mac, and they spent each waking moment together. We made "freshrooms" and "choc chocs" in the play room, went for a leisurely stroll, and even made time for a special concert. Mac didn't let Parker out of his sight. I'm pretty sure that got on Parker's nerves a time or two. haha Good sibling and friend practice for both of them. Come back soon, Parker!!!

Parker playing his air guitar with Uncle Sam at Praise Team practice.

Playing together in the play room.

Racing in their "cars." See, Mac used to get plowed down by Parker,

but look out...Mac has his own vehicle this time!

Going for a morning stroll; diaper, pajamas and all.

Watching Sprout, the best channel ever!!
**Disclaimer: My child and nephew do not ordinarily spend all day in diapers and PJs...I just happened to take all the pictures about the same time. :)

All In A Day's Work

You definitely can't accuse us of all work and no play! Thanks to my parents (and Craigslist), Mac has a fabulous play room to spend time in. It is right off the kitchen, so it is absolutely perfect for me too. He is so content to stay in there and play while I cook, do dishes, and clean up. He really likes the ball pit and spends so much time just going in and out, in and out. We have a big time playing everyday!

Bye-Bye, Daddy

Mac loves to stand at the door to wave bye to Sam when he leaves. Its so sweet. He has to get on his tip toes just to see out of the window. He stands there for a good while after Sam's gone just looking and waving.

A Heart to Heart

This past Wednesday my grandfather had open heart surgery. By the end of the long endeavor, he had a new valve and 3 by-passes. Since the operation, my family's thoughts, prayers and time have revolved around Papa and his heart. We get text updates, emailed pictures, facebook posts, and phone calls throughout the day informing us of his progress. We are interested in the efficiency of his "new" heart, his oxygen levels, his vital signs, and all the other things that one could be concerned about. He, and we, will and have gone to drastic measures to ensure the good health of his heart.

This has left me wondering...Do I take such drastic measures with my "spiritual heart"??? Do I labor over getting it healthy? Does it consume my thoughts and prayers??? Do I desire each day for the Lord to create in me a new heart? The Lord is showing me that if I approached my spiritual heart with the eagerness and fervor that I do our physical hearts, my life would be drastically different. And better! Thanks for the lesson, Papa!!!

"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life."
Psalm 139:23-24

"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." Proverbs 4:23

My wonderful grandfather...can't wait til he's back home!!!

Say "Cheese"

I recently stated in an earlier post that when Mac sees or hears the camera, he turns to smile. Well, he is still very aware when I take the camera out. However, the smile has turned into a...I really don't know what to call it. A crazy, funny, scrunched up face. I mean, maybe he thinks he's smiling big, but the one left smiling big, or laughing, is the person taking the picture. haha

"Cheese"???

Bath time is one of Mac's favorite times of the day. He loves to splash in the tub. Although I know we are behind, we just got Mac the little tub and toys. And he absolutely has a blast. Now bath time takes much longer because he doesn't want to get out.
Before we purchased all the fun bath toys, Mac's fun was limited to an old Christmas cup, a free army cup and some cool whip bowls. haha And if not for the gift card he received at Christmas from my parents, it'd still be what Mac was playing with. (great idea Mom and Dad, gift cards to use later in the year was brilliant!) Those things are not cheap...and especially if you go to Babies-R-Us! I wanted just a plain, regular rubber duck. Well, not at Babies-R-Us. The only one they have has a thermometer on it and costs $5. Thanks to Wal-Mart, I found one for $1...LOL Now bath time is so fun!!!
